Adisham Bungalow (St.Benedicts Church)

This is a historically and aesthetically important place which is located 3 km away from Haputale town.

The founder was Sir Thomas Lester Villiers and designed on the "Tudor style" on the lines of the Leads castle in Kent with stout granite walls of locally quarried stone, long, narrow turret windows and chimneys. He started building this in 1920 and competed in 1931. All the wood in this luxurious palace is nothing but "Burma teak" and English oak. He did the garden lay out too in the British style and named his Dream building "Adisham" after the Kentish village where he was born.

Now it's a Benedictine monastery.
